the braid

"A Tua Trança", song written by Márcia to be sung by Rita Redshoes.

Ninguém te amarra os sonhos que habitam nesse lugar. Nem rouba a paz em vê-los a começar.
No one can tie down the dreams that dwell in your domain. Nor steal the peace of seeing them begin.

Wichita Lineman by Flea and Cave

Flea, or Michael Peter Balzary, mostly known as the bassist of Red Hot Chili Peppers, made, with the help of Nick Cave, and presented one month ago, this wonderful version of the old romantic country song "Wichita Lineman", a song written in 1968 by Jimmy Webb for American country music artist Glen Campbell.

And here's virtuoso Flea in a interview with Rick Beato:

boots on the ground

"Film created by Massive Attack (working with US photo artist thefinaleye). This montage work portrays a momentous American epoch that is yet to be named, and comes in the aftermath of the largest public protests in American history - focused on opposition to ICE raids, the militarisation of domestic forces, and state authoritarianism. "

"The film quotes statistics and research by the following sources: American Immigration Council, American Civil Liberties Union, Inside Higher Ed, National Coalition for Homeless Veterans, US National Library of Medicine, US National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA), Privacy International, FactCheck.org. Days Of Ash

U2 just released on Ash Wednesday, "Days Of Ash". It's an EP with six songs condemning current regimes of violence in many places in the world, their injustices, and the resulting deaths.
Here's two songs of the six included in that EP:

1 - About the authoritarian government in America, its brutal ICE, and homaging Renée Good:
Renee Good born to die free. American mother of three.

American Obituary

2 - And about the war in Ukraine and the heroic resistance of the people of that nation:
Don't sleep. Don't even think about it. No need. Maybe a little bit. Still dream. About waking up free.

Yours Eternally

Because there are also good souls in America

Renée Nicole Good was a fatal victim of ICE brutality*. Minutes earlier, she had dropped her 6-year-old son off at school.
John Fogerty is helping Renée's son in multiple ways.

Here's John Fogerty on Veterans Day, Nov. 11, 2025 playing his first great hit, Proud Mary, in Tiny Desk Concert - NPR session, and explaining how he wrote it in 1968.

Because there are also heroes in America

Bruce Springsteen - Streets Of Minneapolis

Through the winter’s ice and cold . Down Nicollet Avenue . A city aflame fought fire and ice ‘Neath an occupier’s boots . King Trump’s private army from the DHS Guns belted to their coats . Came to Minneapolis to enforce the law . Or so their story goes . Against smoke and rubber bullets . By the dawn’s early light . Citizens stood for justice . Their voices ringing through the night . And there were bloody footprints . Where mercy should have stood . And two dead left to die on snow-filled streets . Alex Pretti and Renee Good .
Oh our Minneapolis, I hear your voice . Singing through the bloody mist . We’ll take our stand for this land . And the stranger in our midst . Here in our home they killed and roamed . In the winter of ’26 . We’ll remember the names of those who died . On the streets of Minneapolis .
Trump’s federal thugs beat up on . His face and his chest . Then we heard the gunshots . And Alex Pretti lay in the snow, dead . Their claim was self defense, sir . Just don’t believe your eyes . It’s our blood and bones . And these whistles and phones . Against Miller and Noem’s dirty lies .
Oh our Minneapolis, I hear your voice . Crying through the bloody mist . We’ll remember the names of those who died . On the streets of Minneapolis .
Now they say they’re here to uphold the law . But they trample on our rights . If your skin is black or brown my friend . You can be questioned or deported on sight .
In chants of ICE out now . Our city’s heart and soul persists . Through broken glass and bloody tears . On the streets of Minneapolis .
Oh our Minneapolis, I hear your voice . Singing through the bloody mist . Here in our home they killed and roamed . In the winter of ’26 . We’ll take our stand for this land . And the stranger in our midst . We’ll remember the names of those who died . On the streets of Minneapolis . We’ll remember the names of those who died . On the streets of Minneapolis .
