sweet memory :)
This was one of the kindest moments in Anna Calvi's concert last 17th.
"Bleed Into Me" was her 13th song and the 1st one of the encore.
I was filming this, but I only have the beginning and the end 'cause my battery was gone at the middle.
So here we have an alternative. Enjoy :)
Happy holidays everybody :)

echoes from yesterday
Yesterday I was surprised by the amazing performance of this unknown guy playing piano and singing all alone, supporting the 1st part of the last concert of Anna Calvi's 2013 Tour.
Though Patrick O'Leary has a full hand of good songs, some better than this one (in my opinion), this is the only song available on-line. And it is the song that closed his show last night. However, we have here all "I Have A Tribe" band, another nice surprise for me, 'cause this song in particular makes much more sense like this :)

From Galicia with love
A poem from Manuel Curros Enríquez, a fighter for the cause of the Galician language at 1800s, dedicated to Rosalía de Castro, poetess from the same cause, composed and adapted to Portuguese by José Niza and firstly sang by Adriano Correia de Oliveira in 1971, and now brilliantly covered by Vicente, son of Jorge Palma:
Coming by the beach sand, I saw her passing. A star on the forehead, a song on her lips. Coming so lonely in the endless night, That I even prayed for the poor crazy. Me, I have no one to pray for me... Me, I have no one to pray for me. Muse of the people that passing I saw. Eaten by wolves. Eaten she died. It's her bones you're saving. Ah, those who have a star on their forehead! Ah, those who have a song on their lips! Coming by the beach sand, I saw her passing. A star on the forehead, a song on her lips. |
