My choice for 2010 year's song...

This wasn't a great year in all issues including music. I know there's missing lots of good music not edited yet from CocoRosie or P J Harvey... But anyway the choice for the best music wasn't easy and wouldn't be easy. Comparing per example to last year when we had some genious works and a masterpiece from Rodrigo Leão with Neil Hannon's diamond voice...
This year I would like to post another wonderful voice (Hope Sandoval) singing this beautiful "Paradise Circus" with Massive Attack. But I don't want our moms and some of our friends to see it...
And so I choose to post my second choice from this original post. There's no other clip for this. Close your eyes and enjoy "The Departure" from the Our Broken Garden.
Have a peaceful and lovely New Year :-)

the beginning of the end of the darkness

The solstice finally. The shorter of these dark days where frightening things easily happen... As dragons in Eden in this unbearable performance... That's why I do prefer the studio version with the voice recorded without simultaneous instrument playing. Far to be anything from the Eden. As this year anyway... And we still have 3 more months of darrrrrrrrrrknessssss (BRRRRRRRRR)

To say a turkey will stand in the rain With his mouth open till he drowns in the sky Is like saying certain people will Take does of pleasure till they die That's what an alien would say (Oh, so you're an alien.) No, that would be ridiculous (Oh, so you deny it now.) I have a receipt that says Texas And I kind of like the feel of cool water With no place left to go
Fantastic TWR
Good night :-)

Dolls

This is a beautiful animation from a 1973 film called "La Planet Savage".

Late 30 years later

À gauche, moi et Martine à la Gare Saint Lazare à Paris en Octobre 1980.
As I told here before, we loved to talk a lot about music of course...
One month after this photo I wrote to her telling about the brand new album of Lennon. Different but discreet and very good. She said nothing. A mad being had killed him.
This post is 2 days late.
I only noticed about the 30th anniversary of the death of John Lennon after reading a late (again) newsletter.
Symbolically the time of this post will be marked with the Lisbon's hour and date of his death.
Below there's an acoustic version of the song I like most from his last album: "Watching the wheels" ... just had to let it go...

This Portuguese "stream" in the last few posts occured spontaneously. After the first I asked my self, why not to post this one that fits so well now and here? But for now and for this serial here's my last one:
Good night! Have a nice weekend :-)

Cool Kids

I stumbled upon this dude a few weeks ago and I guess now is a good time to play since Peras has been featuring bands/artists from Portugal. I don't think this is as good as any of the ones we have seen but i am contributing to the theme :) http://www.myspace.com/branchesbranches

from the running bandit

These are earth sighs
stuck in the tension
of our attention to the void
of our ideas
are our hands
tied in rings of reason and cold
They are human jokes
that don't make us laugh
or demolish the more serious side
of our ideas
are our mothers
trapped in the annals
of passion and tedium
It's the beginning of the war
devouring the endeavor
in penetrating on the back of the river
of our ideas
I wanted to be the plant
when I heard the earth calling for me
